Go Crazy for Coconuts

Background

Coconuts.

I have always loved coconut and am thrilled that they are becoming more and more popular.

Some people class coconut as a superfood as it is packed with nutrients, including vitamins C, E, B1, B3, B5 and B6 and minerals including iron, selenium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorous.

We can find coconut in nearly everything we buy: beauty products, hair products, food and drink.

So, how can coconuts help improve our lifestyle?

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is used for nearly everything you can think of. One of them is in food; it is said to help with weight loss as the fat is metabolized differently than other fats like olive oil and canola oil. So next time, when you are making dinner, use some coconut oil instead. Coconut oil is said to do wonders to our hair as well; you just massage your scalp with the oil, making sure every inch of hair is covered in oil. Then all you need to do is wrap your hair in a towel for at least thirty minutes and then wash it with shampoo. Watch your hair come to life! Coconut oil works magic on our skin too! If you suffer from acne, rashes or even wounds, it is known to soothe your skin dramatically.

Coconut Water

This liquid is what is found inside coconuts. It is packed with vitamins and is said that it does a better job at replenishing and rehydrating the body than water does. So the next time you hit the gym, take some coconut water with you.

Coconut Milk

Many people get confused and think that coconut milk is the liquid inside the coconut, when in fact coconut milk is what is squeezed from the meat of the coconut. Coconut milk is said to help reduce inflammation and fight viruses and bacteria. However, it is very high in fat, 24% to be exact. So don’t overuse it.

Here are a few recipes with coconut milk and coconut water. You will end up asking yourself how you lived without it before!

Your Scars Are Beautiful!

“Often times, the world both directly and indirectly Tells us that we shouldn’t be happy with ourselves If we don’t fit certain beauty standards. “Scars to your beautiful” is a reminder that beauty isn’t only One look, shape, size, or colour. It isn’t even always tangible. It comes in an endless amount of forms And we need to recognize that.” Alessia Cara The talented and relatively new singer, Alessia Cara, […]
