“Change is always possible because we are unstoppable.” That’s what #FridaysForFuture’s song says and we believe it!
How much influence can one teen have over the whole world? Apparently, a lot! Greta Thunberg created an amazing movement called #FridaysForFuture when she was only 15 years old! The movement began after Greta sat in front of the Swedish parliament every school day for three weeks, to protest against the lack of action on the climate crisis. Now, people from at least 101 countries have joined and more than 802 strikes have been held!
Greta requests that people strike in front of their closest town hall every Friday. Why? Because of the worsening climate destruction, the goal of going to school is beginning to be pointless in the movement’s eyes.
“Global Week for Future” is an initiative of #FridaysForFuture (to be held 20-27 September). Now, adults are asked to join and hold workplace strikes. If it’s too much for someone to strike, It’s ok. There are many ways to show support; even some churches joined and had their bells “strike”!
