BEING ECO FRIENDLY AT SCHOOL

todayAugust 31, 2019 13

Background

We live on a wonderful planet, so we should be doing everything we can to protect and preserve it. Being eco friendly is a great way to do that! Now that we’re back at school, we present you the best ideas we know towards being eco friendly at school!

Where to start? Reduce paper consumption by taking notes on a laptop, printing double-sided, and using an online scheduler to keep assignments organized. If you can, walk to school or take public transportation to reduce air pollution.

Replace single-use plastic with vegan wax sandwich wraps and homemade snacks (over store-bought ones wrapped in plastic). Drink from reusable water bottles and use cardboard pens. Also, choose to refuse canteen (cafeteria) items wrapped in plastic.

What more can we do?

If your school doesn’t have an environmental club, take this opportunity to start one! Spread awareness by screening environmental films or organizing an event for donating or swapping clothes and school supplies, instead of throwing them away.

Together, small changes can make a big difference!

What is your next eco friendly step at school? Let us know!
