Starting off our list at number one is Sweden. If you want to see the Northern Lights, this destination is perfect for you. The Northern Lights are best seen within the Arctic Circle, so if you head north to Lapland, you will be able to witness the magical lights at their greatest while getting pampered at one of the luxury hotels nearby. Give yourselves a minimum of a week there though, you don’t want to get there for only a few days and realise that the sky isn’t clear enough to get a good view.
It’s a holiday after all and you need to relax.
If your family is looking for a livelier atmosphere, then head to Munich, Germany. You can join in the Christmas cheer at their famous Christmas market where you will be able to witness amazing light displays and advent music. Don’t forget to indulge yourselves in some traditional German mulled wine with a naughty piece of gingerbread to go with it.
If you are looking to get away from the cold winter and enjoy some sunshine, Australia is the place to go. Travel to Bondi beach where you will experience summer in the middle of December. No more making snowmen. But making a sandman instead is always an option.
If your parents want to go all out and experience luxury at its very best, then Bora Bora is the place for them. With its luscious turquoise beaches and exotic fruit, you won’t want to leave. But I’m warning you, this magical island can get really pricey, with its top-end hotels reaching prices of $2200 a night!
Joining our group of hot winter destinations is Mexico. Relax on the beach and enjoy some exotic drinks on one of their many beautiful beaches, Playa del Carmen. Warm weather, check. Great food, check. Unforgettable nightlife, check. A winter holiday to remember, CHECK!
