[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Does your skin get oily almost all the time? For most teens, skin can be a huge chore to take care of because oily skin is a welcome mat for those horrendous spots and ghastly zits. Well, it’s high time we said goodbye to oily skin and hello to clear, matte skin. I’m going to let you in on the top ways to get rid of that oiliness that has been causing you havoc until now.
First things first, check your diet. Are you eating a lot of junk food? Fatty food equals oily skin. The body’s way of getting rid of toxic waste is through the kidneys and liver. However, if the food you are eating has too many toxins for the kidneys and liver to handle, your skin will get to work to help get those nasty toxins out, thus causing you to have oily skin.
Breathing is crucial to survive, right? That goes for your skin too. Your skin needs to breathe. Therefore, sleeping with makeup on is a no no! But I want you to go one step further, make sure you wash your face twice a day (when you wake up and before you go to sleep), and I don’t mean just with water – use a natural soap. Make sure to wash gently – scrubbing too hard could irritate your spots.
You need water, and lots of it. Mother Nature’s natural drink can work miracles. It hydrates the body and keeps your skin feeling fresh at all times. Grapefruit is also great for the skin. Did you know that it is high in water content? 90% to be exact. It is also high in fiber and vitamin C, so you can’t go wrong. Just don’t go buying store bought grapefruit juice that is full of sugar. Get to work and start squeezing.
Don’t forget that you are a teenager – having oily skin is just part of the process of adolescence. So it might comfort you to know that this period of time will pass naturally anyway. Just give it some time and you will see.
